講演で展示した５種類の藍で染めた資料　Materials dyed with 5 kinds of indigo exhibited at lecture

9月21日〜22日、2020北方のいろ共同制作ワークショップと国際天然のいろ展（主催：アースネットワーク、共催：公益財団法人 北海道文化財団、In the steps of Antonie Janot）、会場：札幌モエレ沼ガラスのピラミッドHIDAMARI スペース２にて、講演で展示した藍の資料とインジゴツィードを展示致します。また、スペース１では、2014年〜2018年に取材し、藍建した国内外の藍染料の製造現場の映像を放映いたします。

新年のご挨拶

Indigo tweed spun and woven by raw wool dyed with fermenting indigo vats
藍染：角寿子
　　（タデアイとウォードすくも、琉球藍とインド藍沈殿藍の４つの藍発酵建液）
紡績：三河紡毛
　　（1779年発明のスピンドルを回転させ繊維を糸にするミュール精紡機使用）
製織：山栄毛織
　　（明治大正期〜使われてきた大型シャトル織機の国産ションヘル織機使用）
堅牢度試験：毛研ケケン

藍染の過程：４種類の藍染料をそれぞれ仕込んだ４つの藍建液を順に使い、
　　　　　　1日１kgの原毛を１つの液で染める。1日染めたら、3日間はその液を
　　　　　　休ませ、回復を待つ。40kgの原毛を藍染〜酸化、水洗〜天日乾燥3日、
　　　　　　２ヶ月置いて、水洗〜天日乾燥３日、仕上げまで３ヶ月余りをかけた。


2020年は染織を生業として40年目の年、1989年夏の初めてのパリ滞在以来、美術、工芸、修復、科学など多様な研究、制作活動に導いてくれた友人達へのお礼も込めて、2月26日、フランス国立美術史研究所で、この間に訪ね、協働〜藍建した日本と海外の現場を紹介、自身の４種の藍染料と藍建方法について講演します。

2019年ホソバタイセイとエゾタイセイ栽培〜染料作り

　　Isatis tinctoria ホソバタイセイとIsatis tinctoria yezoensisエゾタイセイ

　　　　　　　　　ホソバタイセイの茎と葉
　　　　　　　　　　生葉を潰して丸める
　　　発酵させながら押し固め、乾燥させる
　　　　　　　　　　　　3週間後
　　　　　　　　　　秋収穫のタイセイ
　　　　　　　　　　　秋の下葉を潰す
　　　　春〜夏収穫より発酵は遅いが、匂いは同じ
　　　　春〜秋で、100L建てする量は充分確保できた。

蓼藍の沈澱藍とすくも、ウォードのすくもを作る

Production indigo paste and Sukumo with Polygonum tinctorium, couched woad using green woad ball with Isatis tinctoria

蓼藍を収穫、400L浸ける。harvesting Polygonum tinctorium, then soaking 400L in water

全草を使い藍建用の沈澱藍、葉のみで藍顔料を作る　 Making indigo paste for indigo vats and indigo pigments for painting.
葉を水に浸けてインジカンを抽出する　 soaking leaves in water for extracting Indican
すくも藍用の蓼藍の乾燥葉とウォードすくも用のウォードボール　dry leaves with Polygonum for Sukumo, and woad balls for couched woad

「４つの藍染料発酵建による羊毛染」Wool dyeing with fermenting vat using 4 kinds of indigo dyes

11月18日に開催された天然染料顔料会議第15回大会（宇都宮大学峰ヶ丘講堂）にて口頭発表、４種類の発酵建液それぞれで染色した羊毛布と原毛を展示した。

また、10月にリスボンで開催されたDHA37で共同発表したポスターと自身の4種類の藍建液それぞれで、濃〜淡10段階に10枚ずつ染めた計40枚の羊毛布試料、他の共同発表者2人と1グループが5種類の藍建液で染めた50枚、合計90枚の藍染羊毛布と各々が使用した藍染料を展示、解説した。

And, exhibited and explained posters and wool samples that had presented as one of collaborators in DHA 37, Lisbon, 25th-26th October 2018, those were my dyeing 40 pieces of 10 shades with my 4 kinds of vats, 50 pieces with 5 kinds of vats by other 2 persons and 1 group, totally 90 pieces of wool cloth samples.
